Botox & Fillers

Botox, Dysport and Xeomin

What is Botox?
Botox is a compound that temporarily removes the connection between the treated muscles and nerves that provide impulses to them. When used judiciously, the result is a dramatic improvement in facial lines around the eyes, brow, forehead, nose, and even mouth. Botox can also very effectively treat the ‘orange peel’ look of the chin, and can be used to relax pre-jowel sulcus (drooping areas along the jaw line) that happens as we get older.

How is Botox administered?
Botox is administered by injection using very tiny needles. Minute quantities are injected either into, or just below, the skin to treat the specific target muscles.

How long do the effects last?
The effects last for 3-4 months in most people. Botox does not gradually wear off over that time. Typically, the full effect is maintained for 3-4 months until the effectiveness begins to taper off, which lasts for about 2 weeks.

Does Botox have any permanent effects?
No. The effects of Botox will always wear off. Unlike plastic surgery, there are no permanent effects.

Radiesse is a longer-lasting dermal filler used for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Radiesse is comprised of a natural material called Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. Not only do these microspheres fill in the lines and wrinkles, but they also stimulate the body to help produce more collagen. It can be used in areas such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines (lines from the mouth to the chin), pre-jowel sulcus (drooping areas along the jaw line), cheekbones, and cheeks. We also use Radiesse for the back of the hands to help restore a more youthful appearance.

Because Radiesse is made of calcium-based microspheres, it lasts longer than other dermal fillers; typically between 12-24 months*.

Juvederm, Restylane,  Belotero and Perlane

Dermal fillers have become a very popular treatment choice for wrinkles. The appearance of wrinkles and folds can be smoothed out by adding volume, thus bringing sunken skin back up to the surface. We offer a variety of popular fillers that can be tailored to fit your needs, such as Juverderm, Restylane, Belotero, and Perlane. These four fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a hydrating substance that is produced naturally by our bodies. Commonly treated areas include the lines from the nose to the corners of your mouth (called nasolabial folds, or the smile lines), and the lines going down from either side of the mouth (called marionette lines). Some of these fillers can also be used to eliminate the tired look beneath the eyes, or the ‘bags under the eyes’ appearance. Lines and wrinkles around the lips can also be treated, which will help to restore the lips and give them a fuller look.

Results typically last from 8 to 12 months.*
